“Bike to Uni”. The new edition of the challenge starts in September 2026

Following the initial pilot phase, carried out in autumn 2025, students and staff of Politecnico di Milano will be able to take part in the new edition of the joint “Bike to Uni” challenge for their daily commuting trips between home and university, as well as for leisure journeys made by bicycle, scooter, or on foot. To participate in this new edition, users must download the Wecity app, enter the initiative code, and activate route tracking. Further information on how to take part and contribute to making our cities more liveable and healthier places will be made available soon.

The “Bike to Uni” joint challenge, an initiative developed within the framework of the MOST PNRR Project – National Centre for Sustainable Mobility, promoted by Politecnico di Milano and the University of Bergamo in collaboration with Wecity, the Italian platform for sustainable mobility, enables participants to turn their home-to-university commute into a daily act of environmental responsibility by choosing active and sustainable modes of transport whenever possible. At the same time, it encourages greater attention to personal physical well-being.

As in the previous edition, many useful prizes will be made available to participants, according to the different rankings planned.

Please note that, to reach Politecnico di Milano, 77 cycling routes to and from the University’s Milan campuses have been identified by experienced cyclists. For each destination, where possible, three types of routes have been mapped out: the fastest/most direct route; the route with less vehicle traffic; and the route making the greatest use of cycle paths. Find out more on the dedicated page: BIKE to POLI

The Participation Rules of the Challenge’s new edition will be available soon.
