Circular Raw Materials and Recycling for Sustainability – Rome, 17-18/06/2026

On June 17 and 18, 2026, Rome will host the first edition of the conference “Circular Raw Materials and Recycling for Sustainability (CRAWMA)”, organized by IEREK in collaboration with the Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering of Sapienza University and various partners, including UNIRIMA, Gruppo Fiori, PLAST, and the Italian University Network for Sustainable Development (RUS).

The event will offer an opportunity for interdisciplinary discussion between academia, industry, researchers, policymakers, and industry experts on the topics of circular raw materials management, recycling, urban mining, and critical raw materials supply chains.
Speakers will include Eleonora Perotto from Politecnico di Milano, as Coordinator of the RUS Resources & Waste Working Group.

Particular attention will be paid to scientific and technological innovations that favor the transition from linear models to circular supply chains, through more efficient processes for recovery, recycling, and resource use, in line with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12.

CRAWMA also promotes international collaboration and knowledge exchange between universities, businesses, and institutions, with the aim of developing concrete solutions and technologies to support the circular economy, the ecological and digital transition, and more sustainable and resilient production systems.
