The Politecnico di Milano encourages electric and sustainable mobility by providing infrastructure for charging electric vehicles (such as electric cars, scooters, and bicycles).
The University has 38 charging points, with 16 located on the Città Studi campus, 18 on the Bovisa campus, and 4 at the Lecco campus (see maps).
In 2026, an additional 50 new charging points are planned, each with a capacity of 7kW. Of these, 20 will be in Città Studi, 20 in Bovisa La Masa, and the remaining 10 in Bovisa Durando. All new charging points will be recorded and included in Infocad.
For charging electric cars at the Politecnico’s charging stations, a differentiated tariff system is available, offering a financial advantage to University users. The charging cost is €0.30 per kWh for users registered on the platform with an @polimi.it email address, while it is €0.35 per kWh for those registered with other domains.
To register on the platform, users can either access the website ricaricaev.it or scan the QR code displayed on the charging station’s screen the first time they charge.
To access the discounted rate, you must register using your @polimi email address.
Once all required information has been entered, users can access the platform, which allows them to view available charging stations in the network, see a history of previous charges, book a charging session, and manage their account.
Please note that, to discourage prolonged occupation of the charging points by vehicles that have already finished charging and to ensure accessibility for all users, a parking fee has been introduced. This fee takes effect when charging is complete – that is, when the car remains connected to the charging point but it is no longer supplying power. When charging ends, an alert is sent to the user by email, informing them of the need to free up the charging point. Sixty minutes after the alert is sent, a parking fee of €0.03 per minute (equivalent to €1.80 per hour) is applied.
