
Politecnico takes part in Ecomondo 2024
Ecomondo is the international event in Europe and the Mediterranean area for technologies, services and industrial solutions in the green and circular economy sectors.
Ecomondo’s Technical-Scientific Committee – a pool of eighty members including scientists, technicians, managers and representatives of national institutions, sector associations and federations, consortia, agencies and institutes – ensures the quality, innovativeness and internationality of the contents.
The 2023 edition saw almost 10,000 attendees, 120 countries and regions involved, with 1560 companies present, 18% of which from abroad.
Ecomondo 2024 will host an extensive and qualified programme of conferences, seminars and events exploring the main technological, regulatory and market innovations in the circular economy sectors of organic and non-organic supply chains, water resource management, environmental monitoring, regenerative economy and environmental risk prevention. Among the key moments of the event are the Green Economy General Assembly, organised by the Foundation for Sustainable Development and promoted by the National Council for the Green Economy, in collaboration with the Ministry for the Environment and Energy Security (MASE) and the European Commission.

Supporting the transition of Italian brown and industrial areas into eco-industrial parks and the implementation of industrial symbiosis as a routine management tool for companies
The 8th edition of the SUN – Symbiosis Users Network Conference is an opportunity to focus on economic and non-economic tools and incentives for the promotion of industrial symbiosis and the transition of Italian industrial areas towards the circular eco-district model. Among the speeches, the one held by Eleonora Perotto, as co-coordinator of the Certification and Standardisation of Industrial Symbiosis Working Group, aimed at presenting the Guidelines currently being published ‘Technical Standards for Industrial Symbiosis. A guide for voluntary standards in industrial symbiosis’.

Separate collection: guidelines for a more efficient management of packaging waste in universities
During the debate, coordinated by the broadcaster Ricicla.TV, among others, there will be a speech by Eleonora Perotto (Politecnico di Milano), the current coordinator of the RUS ‘Resources and Waste’ Working Group, who will illustrate how, thanks to the CONAI-RUS partnership, the Guidelines for separate waste collection in universities have been drawn up. The guidelines represent a basic information for further in-depth studies.
