BeviMI Project

The BeviMI Project – “Mayor’s Water and Responsible Consumption”, conceived and proposed by the Italian Committee for the World Water Contract (CICMA), co-financed by Fondazione Cariplo under the “Plastic Challenge – Challenge to Single-Use Plastics” call, involved three universities in Milan: Politecnico di Milano (DICA_Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, in collaboration with the University’s Environmental Sustainability Unit Unit), Università degli Studi di Milano, and Università degli Studi di Milano -Bicocca.

As part of the BeviMI project, an agreement was signed with CORIPET, which includes the free installation of an eco-compactor at each of the three universities, aimed at initiating the collection of PET plastic bottles for bottle-to-bottle recycling. At the Politecnico, the eco-compactor was installed in Building B8  of the Durando Campus, in Bovisa.
