European Mobility Week: a Training Day on Road Safety – September 16th, 2024
For the occasion of the European Mobility Week, the Politecnico di Milano (Human Resources Area/Training Service and Infrastructure Management and Services Area/Environmental Sustainability Service), has organised a whole day of training on Monday September 16th, 2024. The organizers believe that training will be influential in raising awareness of the importance of road safety.
The training meeting, which consists of two sessions, will be held in person, at the Aula Castigliano, Ed. 5, Piazza Leonardo da Vinci 32 however, students will have the option of accessing the training virtually.
Morning session (9.15-13.00)
The first session, aimed mainly at RSPPs and ASPPs, and is open to all those interested in the topic, is part of the project ‘In Lombardy, road safety is a priority field of action’ devised by the Lombardy Region, with the Automobile Club of Italy (ACI) and the National Institute for Accidents (INAIL). Thanks to the agreement between the 3 bodies (signed on 14/04/2023), training and awareness-raising initiatives and intervention programmes – implemented in the two-year period 2023/2024 – have been identified to reduce road accidents on the regional road network. The message identified for the project is ‘Road safety awareness can help prevent accidents’. The session is valid as an updating training for the ASPP/RSPP workers.
A further trainining on the same topic will be held on 18 September 2024, from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., at Assolombarda with the conference ‘In Lombardy road safety is in first place: training and raise awareness to prevent’, which will be attended by institutions and companies. Among the guests will be the Mobility Manager of the Politecnico di Milano.
Afternoon session (2.15 p.m.-5.30 p.m.)
The afternoon session will focus on road safety relating to cycling and pedestrian mobility, and will be attended by representatives of the Municipality of Milan, AMAT, FIAB Milano Ciclobby, as well as technical experts and researchers from the Politecnico.
Volunteers students from PoliCiclo, the Politecnico’s cycle workshop (based at the Milan Bovisa – Durando campus), will be present and will illustrate how to ensure that one’s bicycle is reliable and safe.
