Agroecological practices for landscape – November 29th, 2024

The seminar serves as an opportunity to delve into sustainable landscape practices. Specifically, it aims to explore the beneficial effects of agroecological practices on landscapes as they produce food and provide services, discuss how technological innovation can support these practices, and examine possibilities for amplifying their positive impacts to become effective within various landscape policies.

The event is divided into two parts. The first part will feature presentations by researchers from diverse disciplinary fields, including ecology, urban planning, agronomy, geography, economics, and landscape architecture. They will collectively analyze traditional agricultural and livestock practices as ecologically sustainable approaches. These researchers are members of the Local Food Policy Network and have long been studying the impacts of agricultural and urban policies on landscapes.

The second part will feature a roundtable discussion, during which other colleagues from the Politecnico di Milano who are part of the Local Food Policy Network will share their experiences with the guest researchers. Giacomo Pettenati, who, along with Paola Branduini, leads the Food and Landscape group within the Local Food Policy Network, will coordinate the roundtable.
